Posted 30th July 2010HHHI All,
We are now up to almost 50 participants, and as I have asked Belambra to hold extra places for us, I do need to know if anyone has changed plans and will not be attending.
As travel plans are many and varied, and as it's cheaper than the group rate to book direct with Corsica Ferries, I suggest that you book online right now (there are significant discounts for those who are 60 and older and family groups).
Unfortunately, as ferry crossing are limited we have the following choices:30 September Depart Nice 14h30 Arrive Bastia 19h50 (80km drive to resort).
The Sunday Hash/Hashes will be organised according to numbers staying on or taking the early ferry crossing.
Payment of €210 per head should be made to Sadist, please contact Sadist on email@example.com as I not putting up bank details on an insecure web page.(Never Cums)
Please advise me by e-mail as and when payment has been made.
If you do wish to stay on at the resort after the Hash weekend, you can make the request directly with them, once your booking has been confirmed.

Below is the latest list of participants, now up to 46.
A notable absence is Ironbum who sadly passed away earlier this week. She was a great supporter of RH3 events and an inveterate Hasher who made friends wherever she went. We shall certainly miss her in Corsica.

I have just received updated information from Belambra, and discover that I mistakenly listed the club as being near to Ajaccio. This is in fact the other Belambra club on the island which only does week long stays. The club that we have been quoted on is the Belgodere - Palasca on the Golfe de Lazari situated on the north western coast of the island close to Ile Russe (7km) and Calvi (30km).
Here is the updated list of those who have sent e-mails indicating a wish to attend:Prestressed
This totals 23 and with others who have indicated verbally, I estimate that we are already up to more than 30. If you do want to attend but have not let me know, please do so now, by e-mail, as we will need to confirm with Belambra fairly soon.
Transport is presenting another problem as at our chosen time of year
ferry schedules are reduced, and the only ferry options via Nice are
to Bastia which will entail an 80km drive to the club, returning via
Calvi, 30km from the club.
Ferry timing would be: Nice - Bastia 30 September dep 14h30 arr 19h50. Calvi - Nice 3 October dep 11h00 arr 15h00.
And Toulon does not appear to be any better.
Alternatively the round trip airfare Nice Calvi is at least €150.
I am still awaiting the ferry group travel rate, and also asked Belambra to obtain one 2 weeks ago. In the absence of a response they are chasing it up as well. The regular return fare is around €50 to €60 per head, 2 or 4 up in a car, but I am sure the group price will be less. If you can borrow children, the family rate gets even better!
As some of you will be making your own way to Corsica, or staying longer, please let me know if you require the ferry booking. Extra nights at the resort should be around €50 demi-pension.
Once again, please let me know soonest by e-mail if you wish to participate.

Just received news from Belambra, and they can accommodate 40 of us at their Belgodere Club close to Ajaccio from 30 September to 3 October.
Looks like costs will be €210 for 3 nights demi pension, including at least 3 hashes and a disco party as well, PLUS transport.
I need to check with Corsica Ferries on their group rates - I am still awaiting a response to an enquiry sent early March!- but hope we should be able to get a good deal which shouldn't push the price above €250.
Looks like we are definitely on for Corsica 2010, but numbers will be limited, so it's first come first served. Get your provisional confirmations in now.

Looking forward to this year's away event, we are considering the possibility of organising an away weekend in Corsica.
Based upon ferry timetables, it seems that we would need to spend 3 nights in Corsica, and the weekend of 17 September, subject to accommodation availability, has been provisionally allocated.
I anticipate that the all in cost would be at least €250 per head, based upon preliminary research. There are 3 Balambra clubs in Corsica, and I think we should get quotes from them for starters.
Please let me know if you would be interested in the weekend, and please also let me have any suggestions, particularly if you have local knowledge.
