Porquerolles Weekend 18th - 20th September 2009
Brief details here.
Well, your visiting returner Scribe, Diplomatic Bag, was going to spend a couple of hours writing these run notes, but all the budgetted time seemed to be spent waiting for the food in the resto, so it will probably be a bit shorter than planned!
1. Who was overheard saying to her co-hare
… “Biot is so wonderful, very quiet on a Sunday with no cars here!” … …?
2. Who said:
… “Do you want Confusion or me?” … …?
3. And who replied:
… “ I think I’ll have you both!” … …?
4. Who got a free beer from the restaurant?
5. Who walked the runner’s trail and arrived back before the walkers (and some of the runners!)?
6. Why did Confusion give Pedophil cash for services rendered??
Hares, Confusion & Knicker Licker laid a great trail of just under a dozen kilometres, so they told us. At least they would have told us if they had been there at the start. That might have also allowed them to tell us that despite years of Sacred Hash Tradition, they had decided to lay part of the trail with non eco-friendly plastic strips! Anyway Padre set the runners off on time with the walkers milling in the car park; some sort of sailing cup having been presented to Sneaky Bastard by Cum Cum before the ON ON. The howl of engines on the Biot Hill-Climb made it a bit difficult to think, let alone hear any hash calling, so it was with some credit that the leaders, after a slight diversion via the ON INN, managed to find their way up the hill, avoiding being run over by snarling fast cars. Eventually the top of the hill was reached and after some intuitive navigation (the aforementioned plastic), contact was made with the walkers, who were well escorted by both hares! A wooded section followed, but the petrol heads were not satisfied and we soon got on to the dual carriageway for a 2 km stretch past a couple of roundabouts, while being overtaken by about half a dozen super-large coaches not to mention dozens of cars. Just as well I am a bit deaf already! An ambiguous BEER HERE arrow fooled some of the people for some of the time, but after the beer we soldiered on. The second half took in a half-completed housing estate, a downhill stretch through some posh houses, then a final section down the diversion route for traffic from Biot to the A8, because of the still snarling hill climb … Less said the better!! The runners got back before the walkers, including limping quasi-runner, your Scribe, whose knees ain’t what they used to be. I don’t frankly care what else the walkers did!
Padre ran a very competent circle, saving the day as RA in spite of some fringe interference and the aforementioned ‘run issues’ and most of the awards and Down Downs are here. Bit dubious celebrating the Jewish New Year and Eid al Fitr with beer though!
Virgins: Annie Anglade, Peter Cotton, Wendy Noble (from Trinidad & Tobago), Ashley Humphries.
Returners: Generator, Whoresin, Seymour Pussy, Diplo.
Jewish New Year & Eid al Fitr: Mud Wrestler, Padre, Diplo.
Larry Grayson: ‘Captain’ Sneaky Bastard.
New Boots (Walking): Fairy Plunger.
B/Days: Cumin Late.
S.O.W.: Sadist (Well deserved IMHO for nominating a Virgin!)
SOW Nominees: Paedo, Madame Mutton.
2. Knicker Licker
5. Me (Diplomatic Bag)
6. Who cares?
After the circle ON to the HASH NOSH Restaurant/Brasserie/Dive. Pity they didn’t start cooking the food until 90 minutes after we got there! Take away Pizzas seemed to be going out OK though! Final result: Total … … Confusion!
